Cemala Foundation

Transforming a historic building into a modern and vibrant space.

Simplify Commercial Construction

The Cemala Foundation was chartered in 1986 by Martha and Ceasar Cone II. A son of the co-founder of Cone Mills, Mr. Cone was president and chairman of the textile manufacturing corporation headquartered in Greensboro from 1956 to 1973. The foundation's philanthropic efforts around parks, education, workforce development and other causes have been a force for good in Greensboro, NC. At Cooke, we were thrilled to get the opportunity to help bring the foundatiion "back to its roots" by relocating it's headquarters to Historic Revolution Mill, one of the locations where the Cone's revolutionized the textile industry in the early 1900's.

Cooke Contracting was most attentive in renovating The Cemala Foundation’s space at Revolution Mill. Mike Cooke and his staff tended to the details, made helpful suggestions addressing attractiveness and cost, worked for perfection, kept to the budget, and finished on time.
