Mike Cooke
President
Mike graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2005 with a degree in Political Science and brings a lifelong connection to the construction and property development industry through his family’s business. Starting his career in 2006, he held key leadership roles in preconstruction and project management at two prominent general contractors over 15 years before founding Cooke Contracting in early 2021. His extensive experience spans a wide range of projects, including large-scale hotel, healthcare, higher education, and military builds valued up to $40 million, as well as QSR/restaurant and tenant upfit projects with budgets starting at $100,000.
At Cooke Contracting, Mike leads preconstruction, estimating, and project management for his clients. Known for his relentless work ethic, he is deeply committed to delivering value—ensuring every client receives precisely what they’ve invested in. With insights gained from both a leading regional construction firm and a nimble family business, Mike brings a unique, concierge-level construction experience to his clients—delivering premium service at competitive rates, time and again.
Taylor Trogdon Jr.
Director of Operations
Taylor, a NC native, graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in Construction Management. He grew up in a family-owned commercial construction business. His professional career began in 2015. Before joining Cooke, he worked for several leading area general contractors where he served in a field-facing role helping push projects to completion. His construction experience spans hospitality, multi-use, education, and industrial projects ranging from $40 million to $100k.
At Cooke he leads the operations/project management process for his clients. With a client-first mentality, he maintains relationships with repeat clients. Being a proud father of two, he naturally brings a family-centered approach to the team dynamic.
